This document is the future DIRECTIVE OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the competent authorities for the prevention, investigation, detection or prosecution of criminal offenses or execution of criminal sanctions, and the free movement of such data.

The European commission dealing with e-Government, is conducting a reworking of all European legislation on data protection, so far as this committee has prepared a preliminary document which will be a future directive.

This new directive is to launch a new legal basis for placing on the Lisbon Treaty for the adoption of regulations concerning the protection of data from a purist point of view about treatment, access, rectification and forgetfulness in the European Union.

The future directive has two arguments, the first is the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals, their right to protection of personal data and ensure the exchange of personal data between the competent authorities within the European Union.

This future Directive will create protection for biometrics and genetic data, ahead of the technology and creating five categories of stakeholders in the data for the first time data legislation.

'Genetic data' means all data, regardless of its kind, relating to characteristics of a person which are inherited or acquired during the development early prenatal"

"Biometric information" means any data relating to physical characteristics, physiological or behavioral allow a person to their unique identification as facial images and fingerprint data"

Also establish the obligation on Member States to provide easily accessible information and understanding. It also establishes a new system of data security hardening process systems and their treatment. Established 10 minimum security measures.

In future articles we will develop new data to be protected with measures to be implemented, with an analysis of actual implementation in companies and administrations.
